TWIST OFF CAPPER
Benchtop pneumatic capper for the controlled torque tightening of twist-off or plastic screw caps. Stainless steel base. Manual height adjustment of the capping head via a handwheel and a counter that provides a reference based on the container being capped. For the standard version, the maximum container height is 350 mm, with customization possible. Vertical pressure on the cap and torque can be adjusted as needed. Adjustable container locking system via a pneumatic piston. Mechanical neck gripping system for low-density plastic bottles, often used for beverages. We manufacture custom PVC centering/positioning devices for capping small bottles.
The operator makes adjustments based on the size of the container and cap being capped and places the cap inside the spindle or on the mouth of the jar/bottle. Simultaneously pressing the two buttons on the sides of the base closes the cap.
For proper operation of the machine, sufficient air flow is required to accommodate the capper’s air consumption. The capper is pneumatic and must therefore be powered by a compressor. We recommend a power output of 2 HP, a tank of at least 80 liters, and an air flow rate of at least 300 Nl/min. The oil-less system, possibly silenced for greater operator comfort, is recommended. The pneumatic components are designed to run dry, so no lubrication is required. The pneumatic vane motor with a stainless steel casing can be supplied in various versions, depending on the torque required to properly tighten the customer’s caps. The torque is adjusted by lowering or increasing the air supply pressure and, once set, is perfectly constant and repetitive. A spring-loaded compensator softens the contact phase between the cap and the container, regardless of the descent speed of the capping head.
FORMAT CHANGE
A dedicated spindle (starting head) is required for each cap format. Different solutions are available depending on the specific application. Stainless steel or aluminum body, balls and spring for inserting the cap into the chuck, friction rubber or internal knurling of the chuck to match the shape of the cap. Magnetic chucks are available for the following twist-off metal caps: 038, 43, 48, 53, 58, 63, 66, 70, 77, and 82, standard and deep.
