Sauce can have a creamy, pasty and semi-liquid consistency and is used to season pasta and various foods. Pesto is a mixture and is made from crushed garlic, basil and pine nuts mixed with olive oil, Parmesan cheese and pecorino cheese, but pesto can also be understood as other types of pounded sauces.
