To meet the needs of a leading company in the industrial detergents sector, CM3 Engineering designed and built a complete six-head MASTER LINE automatic line, developed for filling and packaging liquid detergents in 2- and 5-litre jerrycans with screw caps.
The system was designed to automatically manage all the main stages of the process, from feeding the jerrycans through to capping, labelling and handling the finished product.
The line configuration includes a container loading system, a six-head filling monoblock with pumps and flowmeters, an automatic capping monoblock, a labelling machine and an end-of-line system consisting of a carton sealer and a manipulator.

Jerrycan loading station
The line begins with the container loading conveyor, designed to feed the jerrycans continuously and in an orderly manner towards the filling station.
The system can handle the different formats specified for the project, ensuring correct transfer of the jerrycans along the line and maintaining a constant flow of containers towards the subsequent processing stages.
The solution was designed to allow a changeover from the 2-litre format to the 5-litre format, providing the flexibility required to manage different production runs.

At the heart of the line is the automatic six-head filling monoblock, designed to ensure precision, repeatability and continuity throughout the liquid detergent dosing process.
The station is equipped with dosing pumps and mass flowmeters, a configuration that allows precise control of the quantity of product dispensed into each jerrycan.
The six-head system enables several containers to be filled simultaneously, optimising production times and ensuring uniform dosing.
The configuration was also designed to handle the two jerrycan formats specified for the project while maintaining a high degree of operational flexibility.

After filling, the jerrycans are transferred to the automatic capping station.
The monoblock was designed to apply and tighten screw caps, automatically completing the jerrycan closing stage.
Integrating the capping operation directly into the line maintains a continuous production flow, reduces manual intervention and ensures coordinated management between filling and container closing.

Once capping is complete, the jerrycans move on to the automatic labelling station.
The labelling machine applies labels to the containers automatically and precisely, completing the product identification and presentation stage.
Integrating labelling into the line ensures a continuous process without the need to move the jerrycans manually between the different stations.
End of line: carton sealer and manipulator
The final section of the system is dedicated to the automatic handling of the packaged product.
The line is equipped with an automatic carton sealer for closing cartons and a manipulator for handling products at the end of the line.
This configuration also automates the final packaging and handling operations, minimising manual intervention and making the entire production process more efficient.
With this six-head MASTER LINE, CM3 Engineering has developed a complete solution for automating the entire packaging process for industrial detergents in 2- and 5-litre jerrycans.
The integration of the various technologies – from container loading and filling with pumps and flowmeters, through capping and labelling, to automatic end-of-line handling – results in a system that is continuous, precise and highly automated.
The line was custom-designed and built to meet the customer’s production requirements, combining flexibility in format handling, dosing precision and automation of packaging operations.
The result is a complete solution that manages the entire production cycle within a single system, from the empty jerrycan to the finished product ready for handling.
